Thanks so much! I had a great time doing this and I am already enjoying exploring the Scriptures using this method. I appreciate the idea and the instructions! Keep up the great work. May the Lord richly bless you so that His glory may increase.
I have a question for you.
I know on your blank bible you used that hard cover ESV Bible. I love the ESV.
Do you still recommend that Hard Cover ESV Bible to do this?
oh, and my comment was for Spurgeon. I left another one for Peregrin Joe on his Blog.
I think it’s a great choice, though the feel and format of a favored bible is a tricky, subjective thing. Pick your bible off page style rather than binding since the binding gets hacked off anyways. Often paperback and hardcover have identical “guts” so binding is not the most accurate judge either. Hope this helps at least a little.
Tony
Thanks Spurgeon. I was just curious as to the thickness of the paper on that particular bible. I would like mine to be a bit thicker.
Also, have you had any problems with your pages ripping off of your Blank Bible at all with that Spiral Binding you used? I see its been a few years now since you first did this… How is it holding up?
Bible paper in general is relatively enduring. I’ve never owned a bible that ripped easily. And the spiral binding means there are many punched holes and this distributes any tension, making the binding more reliable and less stress on the paper (as opposed to a 3-hole punch).
Helpful?
My BB is enduring great! Like new.
Tony
yep! thats fantastic. You sold me. I am going to tackle it once I get my bride’s permission to spend the cash.
Will shoot you the results when done.
Much thanks!!
